One additional note: Effective September 1, 2009, "ingestion projects" are no longer permissible as science fair projects in Canada. These include any project that requires a person (usually friends or classmates) to ingest or apply anything for the purposes of measuring its effect. This most frequently appears as tests of energy drinks, caffeine, herbal supplements, etc.

Live animals are NOT permitted with the displays. If a student wishes to study the response of an animal to different stimuli, then the experimental set-up may be displayed, but not the actual animals used.
